Dorothy Lynn has spent many years speaking and writing about management and communication subjects. She began her career in New York at the Presidents Association, a division of American Management Associations. She loved that job because she got to work with CEOs and their management teams. She also heard the speeches of management gurus Peter Drucker, Warren Bennis and Tom Peters. She says it was like earning a PhD in management. She opened her consulting business in 1983 and has been at it ever since. She is the co-founder of Confidence Builders International, with her daughter, Jessica Selasky. They have written a well-received book together, Your Public Speaking Workout. These 15 plus years have been outrageously rewarding fun! Speaking of fun Dorothy loves to act and has appeared in many interesting roles in Community Theater.
Jessica Selasky has held executive positions with General Electric in Houston, Texas and with Federated Department Stores in Cincinnati, where she built the telemarketing department from 13 people to over 200. She has a reputation as a great manager and she used that experience to help Confidence Builders grow. She has developed many of the programs Confidence Builders presents. Jessica loves to play golf, so she spends a good deal of time in her Sarasota, Florida home. She is an avid Bengals fan. She is the mother of two girls, Jamie, who lives in Bend, Oregon and Elizabeth who lives in New Orleans.
The Confidence Builders Team loves to make classes fun! It's the only way we know how to teach. Our corporate motto is Laughter Precedes Learning. We live by that rule.
We spend lots of time thinking about what needs to go into a program or training course. We love to do the research--read the books and articles, talk to the experts, then come up with the 6 1/2 Step Programs that will make the most sense to our clients.
We get to see people laugh, learn and grow. Seeing the "aha" look on a client's face when he or she gets a concept and begins to use it is the juice that keeps the Confidence Builders team going.
