DiSC® Personality Profiles
Wouldn't it be great to have a shorthand method to read the people on your team? Great to have them understand one another better? Work out their differences? Encourage people to speak from their strengths?
Why does Samantha take so long to complete a project? How come Mark always seems to be in the middle of every conversation? And why can Hannah be counted on to make everyone feel better even in the middle of a downturn? And you know that Pete takes over within minutes in every meeting.
OBSERVABLE BEHAVIOR! Isn't it true that all of these behaviors and many more can easily be seen? The people mentioned are simply acting or reacting from their own strengths. Samantha takes a lot of time, but you know she gets things right the first time--100 percent of the time. True?
We have been using what's known as the DiSC Personality Profile System with our clients for years now. We love it. Why? Basically because it works. DiSC was developed by psychologist William Marsten back in the 1920s. Marsten created a simple-to-use instrument that clearly defined observable behavioral preferences: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness.
The fact that DiSC has been administered to millions and millions of people who understand it and use its information, tells us it is a worthwhile instrument.
Even more important to us is that when we use DiSC, our clients say things like, "Oh yes, this is totally me." Or they'll say, "I can't believe they've nailed my personality traits. And, "So that's why Joe acts the way he does! Now I understand how to work with him." Good stuff!
What really counts is what happens when people start using the DiSC information. Teams suddenly begin to work better. Conflicts are resolved more quickly and amicably. Bosses understand why certain employees behave the way they do, and employees begin to understand how to work better with a boss. Powerful!
That's why we want to introduce you and your team to the power of the DiSC. It's a great management tool. Easy to use. Economical. And best of all, DiSC creates a common vocabulary on your team to describe behavior.
DiSC is a shortcut every manager needs.
